What's Malaysian's Go-To Food?

Salmon Fish Head from Rakuzen.
The first thing to know about Malaysians is that they are passionate about food. Malaysia boasts a diverse range of cuisines thanks to its melting pot of cultures. As a result, a list of Malaysian food that Malaysians can't help but to repeat all the time is made.
1. Nasi Lemak

Coconut rice, prawn sambal, fried anchovies, peanuts, cucumber slices, and ayam rendang make up nasi lemak, which literally means "fat rice." There may be some differences in the accompaniments, but rice, cucumber, and peanuts are very much always included.
2. Curry Chicken Wantan Noodles

The star of this comforting dish is the vibrant broth we’re using to bring together our hearty vegetables and tender wonton noodles, which highlights spicy curry paste tempered by sweet, smooth coconut milk.
3. Ipoh Shredded Chicken Hor Fun soup

The secret of this noodle dish lies in the incredibly flavoursome soup coupled with the vividly orange layer of oil that comes from boiling the prawn heads. A handful of shredded tender poached chicken, halved shrimps, and chopped chives, served with a small saucer of chopped birds-eye chillies in soy sauce… You may find yourself downing a bowl in record time; slurping up every strand of the noodles and drinking up every drop of soup.
4. Lor mee (Braised Noodles)

Lor Mee is a Hokkien/Fujianese noodle dish served in a thick gravy with a variety of toppings. The toppings can vary in different communities and regions. In Malaysia, popular toppings include slices of pork, tofu, fish cakes, and eggs. In Singapore, Lobak or Ngoh Hiang as they call it, is a popular topping there. Like most Hokkien/Fujianese food, the color brown predominates as the the main flavoring is soy sauce.
5. Satay

At first glance, satay appears to be nothing beyond slightly charred, skewered meat. But good satay is juicy and flavourful, especially when it has been fanned lovingly over a charcoal grill. Served with cubes of rice and peanut drip, satay is delicious with or without them, and is available in chicken, lamb, and beef. It’s so good the Malaysia Airlines has it as a staple on their flights.
